May the 4th be with you!
At this time, we are all hunkered down in our respective home states living in a quarantine due to novel virus Covid 19.
In Michigan, we are currently under a stay home/stay safe executive order until 5/15/2020.
We have not made a decision if there will be an MFR 2020.
We are waiting to see how this virus goes. We are waiting to see if camping and gathering will be allowed in Michigan.
We are also waiting to see if it is safe to gather in August.
We are trying to figure out if there are ways to make the festival more safe for all of us.
I hope you are safe and healthy.
I hope you are keeping your spirit healthy. We are in this together.  Separate but never alone.

Okay. Let's talk about RV's. Do you have an RV? Are you thinking about renting an RV? Here's the situation with RV camping at Wayland Farm.
We have LOTS Of space for RV's.
All RV's will park on the perimeter of the parking lot.
Please back all of your rigs in.
For safety reasons, it is required to BACK in all RV's and cars that are used for camping (those will park along the perimter also, fyi).
ARC RV camping is the space that is right next to Bruno Shuttle path for easy access to shuttle services.
If you are bringing an RV, please remember that this is PRIMITIVE camping.
There is NO electrical hook up.
There is NO water hookup.
There is NO dump site.

If you require electricity or water, there is a full-service, modern campground that is only 5 minutes away, Yankee Springs campground.
It fills up quickly, so please consider getting your ticket and making your reservations sooner rather than later.

Hello!
Warrior Work Weekends are starting soon.
First Warrior weekend is scheduled for 3/16/19, 8am, Wayland Farm
It WILL be cancelled if the weather is snowing, raining, or too cold.
Please check for updates on the website regarding upcoming warrior work weekends.
If you are interested in learning about chainsaws, please consider attending Chainsaw 101 with a visiting professor (TBA).
If you have chainsaw skills, please consider coming out to widen the trails.  It's time to get a little bit more room down the lanes to take more than a golf cart.
Although, I have never had any problems navigating the narrow trails with a golf cart, my passengers will probably be happy to not have such close proximity to the pine trees with their elbows. ;)
We will also be working on doing maintenance on all of the vehicles: Red (my) the tractor, both quads, 101 golf cart, 32 golf cart, hooptey golf cart.  If you are mechanical or like working on cars, please come on out and do some wrenching.
Thank you sisters!!! #sistertimeinthepines #yearofthemothermfr2019

Exciting News!!!
You asked for it and we have worked hard crunching numbers and tossing around ideas.
It's time for MFR to offer a limited quantity of work exchange opportunities.

We are pleased and excited to announce there are several crew positions that will be available for comp tickets (work exchange tickets for full weekend admission).
We need dedicated crew that will be responsible to staff various positions.  If you are interested in being part of the magic during the festival to keep things flowing and staying glittery, please consider applying for a work exchange for dedicated crew positions.
Requirements to be eligible for a work-exchange comp ticket include:
The ability work 40 hours during the festival.  You will be responsible to direct and guide and keep volunteer on task during their shifts.  We will still be recruiting volunteers for work during festival times but to keep the flow and to not overwhelm or overwork volunteers, MFR is now in the position to offer limited comp/work-exchange tickets.
We are looking for leaders (that would be YOU if your application is approved) for the following areas

***Security-responsible to oversee 3 security stations/gates and the night crew.  You will be working night shift, 9pm-5am, Friday-Sunday nights to make sure nobody enters the gates that shouldn't, that women are safe, vendor goods are safe, check on ARC women and make sure there are no falls or accidents.

***Grounds Sanitation--oversee volunteers and make sure, trash is emptied and dumped in dumpsters, escort sanitation trucks that will be emptying janes and water tanks, collect recycling and bring to central location. hours: 7-9am, 11am-1pm, 4-6pm, Thursday-Monday (longer on Monday since that will be final clean up, totaling 40 hours)

***Videographer--video record the festival, hours vary but 40 hours of recording time

***Photographer--capture the magic through your lens, hours vary

Benefits of these positions:  making MAGIC with your sisters.  Arrive early to set up your camp and get into the spirit.  You will still be able to enjoy night performances and being at the festival but you will have a purpose.  WE NEED YOU!!  unlimited hugs.
Please fill out your application here:

Hi Sisters,
It might seem a long ways away (who's counting but there are only 27 weeks until we welcome Sisters SHOW UP, SSU's to the Farm!) until MFR but we are already dreaming and scheming and getting ready to work.
I just want to start doing regular announcements to remind you of things you might need.
Although we are working towards having charging stations for cell phones at MFR Farm, it is NOT a reality yet.
I know everyone really wants to be FULLY PRESENT and in the moment while you are in the freaking woods, sisters.  I know it is important to all of us to gather IN REAL LIFE and not be tied to our technology at least ONE WEEKEND a year.
But if you do feel that you need to stay connected to the outside world, area 51, while you are in festival space, please consider purchasing one of these handy dandy portable battery chargers:

They are $31.99 at

www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Compact-High-Speed-Technology/dp/B0194WDVHI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1548347290&sr=8-5&keywords=portable+battery+charger

There are many others that are available.  this particular portable battery charger will charge my iphone 7plus 4x before I have to charge it again.

Can't wait til I'm in the woods again!
Thanks and blessings,
MFR work group

Hi Sisters! Since L2L Promotions started there has been the intention of accommodating all womyn in their varying incomes, abilities and backgrounds while honoring the demands of running various events and creating a sustainable festival. We offer early discounts because this helps us pay for the tools, materials and contracts leading up to festival and avoid adding to the debt of the producers. Early ticket sales also help us plan for things like electrical needs in ARC, RV parking, Car camping and number of Janes needed. Our goal is to continue to have successful womyns events and we know having a diverse group of womyn is the only way we will continue to be successful. We have had requests for scholarships but at this time MFR and L2L Promotions is not in a financial place to offer discounts other than the early bird savings. On behalf of the womyn seeking scholarships we humbly ask for donations that will strictly go toward scholarships for womyn who have had financial setbacks in the last year that would otherwise prevent them from attending MFR 2018. We know how important sister space is and we encourage you to come out to our Warrior Work Weekends and be among your sisters even if you cannot attend MFR. Womyn who wish to donate may do so via paypal at paypal.me/L2L, please choose Friends and Family. Please note, donations are not tax deductible as we are not yet a non-profit.
